Let's Have a Toast for Mr. West

Hate him or love him, you must admit that Mr. West has dropped a classic with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. This album is much more than a hip hop album, it is a small glimpse in to the sometimes frightening and darkly beautiful mind of Kanye. Songs like "Blame Game," "Hell of a Life," and "Runaway" are very personal and surprisingly honest. You can hate him for his ego, but you have to admit that he makes himself vulnerable through how personal this album is.  Carrying the emotion from 808s & Heartbreak, West incorporates more rapping in his fifth studio album. The whole album has a theatrical  feel to it which explains why it was the soundtrack to West's Runaway. West still stays true to himself with his characteristic use of heavy drums seen in "All of the Lights," "Monster," and "Power".  West still uses soul samples as seen in "Devil in a New Dress," and the whole album samples a lot of instrumentals. This album has more features than any of his albums and yet West still finds away to shine, even when the same track as Pusha and Jay. The only thing I would have liked more in this album is a bit little more rapping. However, West is always evolving his style so I can't complain about the new changes. This album is a must buy, and quite possibly the best album of the year. Once again, Mr. West reinvents himself and drops a solid album. I'm gonna have to thank Yeezy for this one.
